Planners / Consultants

Below are some of our favorite articles on wedding planners / consultants - we'll be adding more articles soon.

Wedding Consultants / Planners

Besides saving you time, and hopefully money, wedding consultants often facilitate discussions between brides and parents, and between brides and vendors. A consultant can manage the endless details surrounding the wedding celebration and offer guidance. Consultants can also advise you on protocol; coordinate events within events and help you stay within your budget.

Consultants can often lead you to the best vendors in all areas. The consultant's level of participation is up to you. It may be as little as timely advise or as much as the complete direction of your wedding.

If you decide to hire a wedding consultant, interview several candidates and choose the one you feel most comfortable with, as you will be relying upon this person for one of the most important days of your life. Look for someone who belongs to professional organizations like the Association of Bridal Consultants or the Association of Certified Professional Wedding Consultants. Ask to see proof of membership. Most consultants charge either a flat fee or work on commission; commissions usually range from 10-20 percent of the total wedding cost.
