Bridal Show Tips
Bridal Shows are a great planning resource for a prospective bride. Often sponsored by local merchants, radio stations, or national promoters, a bridal show provides a one-stop shopping opportunity that can last all day or
several days. Admission is usually free if you pre-register; these shows are a great place to gather information on vendors that you may wish to use for your wedding or reception.

To get the most from Bridal Shows, follow these tips:

• Don't be shy about accepting free samples, brochures, or talking with vendors. After all, this is the only way to find out information about them.
  
  
• Wear comfortable shoes. Chances are you'll be on your feet for quite a while. Bring along a friend, family member or even your fiancé, to help gather information.
• Don't forget labels with your name, address, email, and wedding date printed on them. Otherwise you'll be writing your name and address an awful lot, registering for all the great prizes that will be given away.
  
  
• DO NOT give out your phone number to anyone unless you want that vendor to call you. These numbers are often sold or otherwise circulated amongst the local wedding vendors. As an alternative to giving out your phone number, sign up for a free e-mail account. You can use this address solely for the purpose of communicating with prospective vendors, or set up a virtual e-mail address that will automatically forward to your main account so you won't be deluged with spam for months.
  
  
• Take as much literature as you can from everyone. Even if you do not think you will need a particular service, your needs may change.
  
  
• When you find a vendor you would like to follow up with, take a pen and write down what you liked about them on their literature. When you sit down later to go over all the information you gathered and are faced with 10-20 brochures from each service you need, your note may be the only thing you have to jog your memory on which vendors you liked and why.
